Monday Mingle: High School Reunion

It’s Monday and that means it is Monday Mingle time.  This blog hop is hosted by Funny Postpartum Lady and Story of a Girl.  Each week offers a new theme with questions to answer.  Link up your blog and then go check out other blogs.  This week’s theme is: High School

I wish I had pictures to post.  Since moving in to my baby daddy’s apartment my stuff went to storage which means all my pictures are there and not scanned in yet.

1. What was your favorite memory in HIGHSCHOOL?

Most of my favorite memories involved band and sports.  I loved all of my friends I met while in band and trips to marching competitions and national competitions.  During my four years we took trips to Toronto and Nashville.  Road trips on coach buses and high school tom foolery in hotels made for interesting trips.   Sports kept me active and out of trouble, most of the time.  My all time favorite memory though was going with the marching band to see the movie Angus in the theater.  Our band recorded one of the tracks featured in the movie and so the entire band when to the movies to watch it.

2. If you could do one thing over in HIGHSCHOOL, what would it be?

I think I would have listened to my parents more.  Every time there was a “teachable moment” I ignored them.  Many of those would have put me in a better position as a young adult.

3.  Did you have a HIGHSCHOOL sweetheart? Do you still keep in contact with him?

I had a few…lol.  I was more of the date around type as opposed to one person for a year or two. I still keep in contact with a handful of them, mostly through facebook.

4. Have you attended a HIGHSCHOOL reunion yet? If so, how was it? If not, what do you think it will or could have been like?

I attended my 10 year reunion back in 2008.  I wasn’t planning to go because flying back to Illinois from Phoenix is usually expensive.  I managed to find a good deal and was able to go and glad I did.  I had a very cynical view of high school and still do.  The same groups of people congregated with each other and it seemed that not much has changed.  It was unfortunate and sad at times.  I did however get back in contact with some good friends while there and still stay in touch with them today.

5. Do you think you were popular in HIGHSCHOOL?  Do you think if you went back now it would be the same or different?

I don’t think I was popular.  But then again, I bounced from group to group.  I got along with all different groups of students and was able to blend in with whichever group I was with that day.  I don’t think that would change if I went back now.  I have always been able to get along with several different types of people across my lifespan and believe that would still be the same.

So that’s all for my high school days.  Hope you enjoyed a quick blast from the past.  I wish I remembered more about high school but getting older means your brain sucks.  Plus I have baby brain.
